At West-Vancouver Park: music and humour with the Metropolitan Orchestra
Don’t miss this date: Saturday, August 2!
L'Île-des-Sœurs residents will be able to enjoy their annual rendez-vous with the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Orchestra this Saturday, August 2, at 7:30 in the evening. Humour will be the theme of this open air concert to be held in West Vancouver Park. In addition to the musicians who will be under the baton of Alain Cazes, the audience will also have the pleasure of watching Christopher Hall, clarinettist and comedian.
The programme will be spiced up with lots of humour and music. The humour segment will be highlighted by music that is loved by audiences worldwide - Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Vivaldi.

The invited maestro, Alain Cazes, won Montreal’s Conservatory of Music first prize in the categories of tuba and chamber music. He pursued his studies in the United States before becoming a member of the Brazilian’s government orchestra Paraïba. Mr. Cazes was a soloist in several performances and has worked with numerous orchestras in the Montreal region.

As for Christopher Hall, a significant number of people have had the pleasure of savouring his many talents in the field of comedy during various shows in the small screen and on radio. People have watched him as a stand-up comedian (Juste pour rire, among others) and have listened to his Ouvert le samedipresented by Radio Canada. As a clarinettist, he has played with several large orchestras and certainly knows how to delight his audience with his versatility.

It’s therefore going to be a delightful summer evening for L'Île-des-Sœurs residents as they relax in the company of the Metropolitan Orchestra. Admission is free to this “great humour-filled orchestra” in West-Vancouver Park, located at the corner of L'Île-des-Sœurs Boulevard and Corot Street along the St. Lawrence River. Residents are requested to bring their folding chairs and to note that in case of rain, the concert will be cancelled. For more information, please call 514 765-7150.
